The A.K. Smiley Bookstore is the largest library bookstore in Southern California. We carry thousands of used books for sale in-store. Come find us on the lower level of the A.K. Smiley Public Library in Redlands, California for a huge selection of Best Sellers, Classics, Collectibles, and Antiquarian books. We also have a large variety of movies and puzzles!
SILENT AUCTION
DONATIONS
The Friends accept gently used books, hardback and paperback, audiobooks, newer magazines, DVD’s, puzzles, and video games. Donations need to be resaleable – very dirty, discolored, mildewed, damaged or detached covers, old text books, old computer books, etc. are not suitable for resale. Please don’t donate books that you wouldn’t consider buying yourself. Thank you!
- Donation drop-off hours are Monday through Friday from 9am to 4pm, with the exception of when the library is closed for holidays.
- Please limit donations to 4 bags/boxes per day. For large donations: ring the doorbell at the library’s delivery door located on Eureka Street and a cart will be provided. Smaller donations may be placed in the donation bin located outside the Assembly Room door on the south side of the library.
- If you have more than 4 bags/boxes please call Smiley Library (909) 798-7565 to see if special accommodations can be arranged.
BAG SALE
The A.K. Smiley Bookstore offers a bag sale on the first Saturday of every month. Fill a grocery bag with books for one low price. Members pay $5.00 per bag of books and Non-Members pay $8.00 per bag.
The next bag sale will be held Saturday, January 3, 2026: 10:30AM-11:30AM Members Only, 11:30AM-4:30PM All Welcome; join at the sale for as little as $10/year!
